How soon after C section can you get pregnant?

I had a C section delivery about 3 months ago and I think I may be pregnant again. HPT came back positive. Is it safe to be pregnant again?

How soon after C section can you get pregnant?
If you are already pregnant again it's kinda late for this question. I would call my OB as soon as possible and get in to discuss the precautions that you will have to take with this pregnancy.

The general reccomendation is that you wait a year before getting pregnant again.

My SIL got pregnant three months after a C-section and had a normal pregnancy and a vaginal birth the second time around. So you should be fine, but I would still call my OB.

Good Luck!
Reply:midwife told me 3 weeks doctor told me 4 weeks
Reply:Talk to your doctor. See if your pregnant and they'll guide you. Each c-section is different with different circumstances and different healing and complications.
Reply:No, it is not. Your body needs to rest for at least a year, before you have another child. Do you and your man have something against using proper birth control methods? It is outragious that you would be pregnant again this soon. Outragious.
Reply:i had a c-section and my doctor told me that i could get pregnant as soon as 6 weeks afterward. but she reccomended me not to get pregnantfor at least 1-2 years afterwards due to my uterus healing on the inside.
Reply:You don't sound like such a "smart angel"to me, sorry. You should have been using birth control. It appears you know how to use the internet to ask questions on this site...do you know how to search for answers yourself? Get online and look for yourself. I find this question to be absolutley ridiculous for a woman who has already had a child. You may be allright, but what were you thinking? Safe? I would be more worried about my first babies well-being at this time. You have a three month old to worry about and now you want to go and have another one? How old are you anyway?
Reply:obviously it's possible... but as far as safety, I'm not sure.

My first Dr. told me it didn't make a difference.

My 2nd said give it a good 3-4 months just to play it safe

My 3rd, %26amp; current Dr. said that because my uterus has been cut 2 times and 2 different ways (one classical, one transverse), that waiting closer to 6 months was safer for me.

so as long as you had a transverse C, you shoud be fine.... I'd be more worried about raising 2 little ones so close together myself :)

Good Luck :)
