What is the recovery like after a c-section?

I have had two children already but both were vaginal deliverys. I am having a scheduled c-section this time so that I can get my tubes tied at the same time.

What is the difference in the recovery period after a c-section.

And what is the c-setion like I am a bit scared and dont know much about it..

What is the recovery like after a c-section?
Not to speak for everyone because a lot of women would disagree it was pretty rough I'm a pretty strong willed stubborn girl I do not like to take medication or whine a lot but it was pretty hard on me the best advise I have is to rest often but work you're muscles get up and walk soon it's really painful but the sooner the better!! Good luck to ya!!
Reply:I think the recovery varies from person to person. Like me, for example, i was able to walk the following day after i had a c-section. and you won't be experiencing any labor pains since it was scheduled.
Reply:My c-section wasnt that bad actually, i was walking around target 4 days after i had mine, but my baby was in th hospital so i wasnt really concetrating on the pain but getting the things she needed and getting to her. The only thing that hurt were going over bumps in the car and laughing, my sister is sooo funny so i was pissed at her for making me laugh so much...oh a sneezing. But its not bad. Dont get scared when you go to get your staples removed either, it was nothing, just felt like little pinches!!!
Reply:I have had 4 and each recovery was different. you can expect to be very sore for several days, maybe even a week or two. Standing straight will be very difficult too. Laughing, coughing is also painful.

Once you are home, watch for oozing from the incision, fever of 100 degrees or higher, foul smell from incision-could mean infection. Also redness and pain at the incision is bad.

Some advice-don't keep the baby with you 24/7 in the hospital. You will need your rest especially since you have other kids. I would feed my baby a late feeding and then bring her to the nursery. I slept for the night and then the nurse would bring her to me in the am. You don't need to be super mom. Also, start walking as soon as they tell you to and don't stop. Walking it not too bad, sore and hunched over, but once you stop and sit down, getting back up and walking is sore all over again. I would keep moving just so I wouldn't get sore again. Bring some nice pj's because once you are allowed to shower, you feel so much better. Don't have lots of people in your room right after delivery. You will be wiped out. I actually fell asleep while talking to someone about 3 hrs after delivery. You will probably be exhausted. Good Luck.
Reply:I can only asnswer per what i just went through. For me my son is now 10 weeks old. My first was a vaginal birth. This time I was scared but it was worth it. Basically I feel it is much easier than having a natural birth. I healed in almost 3 weeks completely.. for the first two weeks the major problem i faced was my feet.. They got so swollen which is normal. just keep your feet elevated. And I had a hard time getting my milk in so I had to bottle feed. Hope this helps you
Reply:I think a C-Section recovery tis different for everyone. I healed very quickly, but have had some problems since. Mine was three years ago. I would make sure that you have lots of help from Family for a few weeks, you will be sore and stay in the hospital as long as possible to rest up.
Reply:The first day is pretty rough. You will be pretty sore, and will probably get uncomfortable gas pains. The second day they will probably make you start walking. For me, I had so much adrenaline from having the baby, that I forgot about the soreness and the pain, especially once I got home. You will be fine, but just remember to rest as much as possible and have people at home to help with the other kids!!
