What is/are the best vitamin c products for your face?

I am wondering if anyone has any info or where to find out what has been tested. I've heard that the ones you can buy in the grocery store often have vitamin c in them but are not formulated correctly to work. I know this is a really specific question. Thanks

What is/are the best vitamin c products for your face?
Arbonne re9 does have vit c it and it is formulated to work correctly!!

Is there a significant difference in energy used between the A/C fan on high or low?

I know the A/C drags on the car, but you're not really using "more" A/C by turning up the fan, either the A/C is on or it's off, right? The fan is a separate entity?

Is there a significant difference in energy used between the A/C fan on high or low?
No significant difference.

On a long run, however, since the alternator has to generate more current on the 'high' setting to keep the battery topped up, you will be using that much extra fuel to cater for this extra effort (by the alternator). An alternator under load uses up a bit more fuel than otherwise. This extra bit may add up.
Reply:Actually no difference in energy is used to turn the blower motor on high as low. Because lower fan speeds there are resistors used to slow down the motor. So motor load + resistance lower fan speed. High fan speed is direct to battery voltage thru the motor. Report It

Reply:JP Report It

Reply:There is NOT a significant difference between speeds. As for gas mileage, it takes less gas to run the AC than it does to drive with open windows because of the aerodynamics of the cars today.
Reply:You are correct. The fan switch for hi/low simply will have a higher current drain on the battery, whereas the ac compressor simply has a load on the engine via the drive belt

Is it smart to turn your a/c off or up to 80 at night?

We live in central Texas and our office manager turns the a/c up to 80 degrees every night. Is that a smart thing to do? Is she really saving any money? Does it reduce the life of our a/c unit?

Is it smart to turn your a/c off or up to 80 at night?
The best way to save on power using AC is by having he unit kick on and off the least as possible.

If the office stays cool all night then it should be okay as the AC unit will not to kick on or kick on for long to cool the space.

If the office naturally cools due to night time, there is no need to turn the AC up to 80 as it would not come on if the temperature in the office doesn't reach the set turn on temperature.

If the office is hot in the morning and the AC unit needs to run and run to cool the office off. This uses more power than if the unit kicked on and off a few times during the night.

Same principle with driving a car. Does it take more power to get the car started adn up to speed or to keep the car at the same speed.
Reply:ha ha ha - I keep my thermostat on 86F day %26amp; night.

Of course I sweat a lot but the fan helps!

I wish I could afford to keep it on 80F!!! Report It

Reply:Sure, if you don't want to sleep.
Reply:You would need to have a HVAC contractor come and do a heat loss study and they would be able to tell you the correct answer. If in fact you are in a large office area, then the temperature should not be adjustable by your manager. It should all be automatic. Most commercial buildings go into a "unoccupied" mode of operation which often is set as high as 80. I am in this business, please call someone who can give you the right answer and you might get a raise.
Reply:Yes it is smart. It will save some money. Why would you want to cool a room that will not be used for over 8 hours. It will be a little warm in the morning, but it will cool off in a little bit. I live in hot Florida, and I turn mair up when I am at work.
Reply:Yes, it's a good idea. We have it set to 80 during the day anyway. The good thing is that since the office probably falls below 80 during the evening/night, the A/C never turns on.
Reply:If it is set to 80, it is still consuming electricity. The only real way to save money and increase the life of your AC unit is to turn it off completely when the office is closed.
Reply:where in central tx do you live, I live in Brownwood

it's better to keep it at one setting
Reply:I live in North-East Texas,Howdy neighbor:).A/C will not be harmed by doing this,Temp drops to high 70's to low 80's at night where we are so unit wouldn't come on anyway. When you arrive at work and turn t-stat to 70,unit will run normally,,just a little longer.
Reply:no then it runs all day to get the temp down again, set the temp and let it stay there
Reply:Yes, it's smart. You're only in the office for 8 hours, right? She's saving money.
Reply:no, between 70 %26amp; 75 is good. if you turn it off or too high then it takes more electricity to cool it off again
Reply:No, it is typically better to leave the thermostat at a single setting rather than adjusting it on a daily basis. The amount of work the compressor has to do to catch up and return to a comfortable temperature consumes more energy than if you just leave it at a steady, comfortable temperature. Some people think that by raising the temperature they are saving energy and money, but the unit then has to work twice as hard to lower the temperature when it is adjusted the next day. This kind of up and down is not good for the life of the unit.

That said, if you are planning on leaving for an extended period of time, it is better to conserve energy than to waste it by setting the thermostat accordingly.
Reply:It is not smart

How do belt a C# for Little Shop of horrors?

I recently was cast as Audrey in Little shop and I have a good belting voice but after about a B I get scared and can't anymore... My head voice is way quieter and I am not good at blending! Suddenly Seymour needs that rich C# belt any tips?

How do belt a C# for Little Shop of horrors?
You should absolutely seek the help of a professional voice coach for this or you could hurt your voice irreparably. Do not push beyond your comfort without the help of a pro. It's too important for you to maintain your vocal health and longevity, not sing this one note for Audrey. If your top register is that weak, then a voice coach may be able to help you with that and your blending through certain exercises. Please be careful.

good luck!

What do I do to to access the files on a remote C drive after I've connected to it?

I already connected to my brother's computer using "net use \\********\c" and it says it completed it successfully. What do I do now?

What do I do to to access the files on a remote C drive after I've connected to it?
Hi

If u have managed to connect to a comp in network with \\%26lt;ip/comp_name%26gt;\%26lt;drive%26gt; it should show you files/folder(s) which has been shared for access from network. Assuming that you are using windows, then you have to enable folder share at your bro's comp to access it from ur comp over network.

To enable the share say on C:

1. Create a folder named "TestShare"

2. Rt-click on it and click on "sharing and security"

3. Check on "Share this folder on network" and "Allow network user to change my files", the share name should be "TestShare".

4. Click on apply and ok.

5. Enjoy.

Please note if you are using any other OS the process may differ a lil. I have assumed that the two comps are running win win XP. However the concept is same.

Reply:Aside from the above, when you used that command, you should have specified what drive letter to associate with this connection.

Type in the "net use ?" command for more information.
Reply:once connected to another computer over a network before you can access the files on that computer the folders or driver need to be shared to do this open my computer on you brothers computer and right click on the c: drive and choose properties click on the sharing tab read what it says then click on the bit that warns you about sharing then put a tick in the box marked "Share this folder on the network" click apply wait a few moments for it to complete now you should be able to access the c: drive on you brothers computer
Reply:If you have an administrator account on brothers computer you can go to \\********\c$ to pop open a window to the remote c drive.

If you are connecting to a normal share use \\********\ and select any share folder that you have rights to.

Just type the \\********\c$ in the start menu run line.

Why does the A/C in my car stop working when the car stops moving?

Every time I sit at a stop light, the temperature in my engine starts rising. Additionally, if I sit there long enough (as often happens in rush-hour, downtown traffic), my air starts blowing hot. Then, when I speed up again, the engine cools down, the temperature gauge lowers and the air gets cool again. It runs cold when the car is moving. I have had the entire A/C replaced and the hose which connects my coolant tank to my radiator has fallen off, and put back on a few times. So, why does my car keep getting hot? Why does the air keep getting hot along with it? Is there a correlation between the two?

Why does the A/C in my car stop working when the car stops moving?
There might be a correlation between the two, but probably not. Check to see if your water pump or radiator is leeking. Check if the anti-freeze is leaking. Your cooling thermostat could be broken. The radiator fan motor could also be broken. Another possibility is the cooling pump could be bad.
Reply:Your electric fan on the radiator is not working.......Nothing else.

Air needs to flow through the radiator to remove the heat from it.

If you're stopped, and your electric fan is not working, air will not flow through it untill you start moving the car.
Reply:Engine temp is related to the following:

Radiator, water pump, fluid level, thermostat

Check for leaks, top fluid, replace parts if needed.

A/C - Freon levels (if its an older car, it may use the older freon which WILL require some replacement parts to fix)

At a stop light, the engine isn't running as fast and the A/C will be working harder to cool your car, so the air won't be as cold as when your moving. The same thing happens in reverse for your engine coolant, the faster you go the cooler the engine temp.
Reply:Rolling along forces outside air to flow thru the radiator, cooling the water and assisted with the engine fan to cool the engine. When you stop, heat builds up in the engine compartment while its running and the air conditioner compressor also heats up, thus no cool air. The compressor is not connected to the radiator water. That hose to the coolant tank to the radiator really doesn't help as the coolant tank is only a reservoir for the coolant only. Remedy? (a) get a larger radiator for more water capacity to cool the engine or have the present radiator flushed out. (b) install an electric engine fan to assist the main fan cool the engine. (c) check the opening of the grill to see if there is any obstructions and to see if the radiator is not clogged with dead bugs, debris or other trash preventing the engine to "breathe". (d) keep the coolant/water ratio at proper level. You could also install ram air scoops but that may be too much. Hope that helps.
Reply:It runs more efficient when the car is moving because the engine can generate more electricity. but if you say it blows hot air must be something wrong. Check your alternator
Reply:you have a bad electric cooling fan motor or a problem with the controls or wiring to it. this fan cools the radiator and a/c condenser. if it does not work you will get the exact symptoms that you described.

if your car does not have electric cooling fan(s), the problem will be the fan clutch for the radiator fan.
Reply:did they replace the condenser,in front of the radiator? and also for the heating, the condenser could have stuff like leaves and debri stopping the air flow to the radiator.
Reply:Your radiator is probably going bad. I would also look at the serpentine belt. It powers alot of the things under your hood including AC, water pump and alternator.

How soon after a c-section is it safe to get pregnant again?

I have 3 children, ages 4,2 and 4 months. I think i might be pregnant again. Is this even safe? being the fourth pregnancy only 4 months after a c-section? My husband thinks I am just being paranoid and I am only experiencing the side effects of the progesterone only birth control pills. Could that be?

How soon after a c-section is it safe to get pregnant again?
Yes the pills could be making you feel a little odd, especially if you recently started taking them.

As far as how long to wait, I wouldn't advise anything sooner than a year. I waited 18 months in between mine to be safe. You need to give the incision time to heal. Even if you are on the pill, use condoms for now. They might suck, but your health is important!

Good luck and best wishes!!
Reply:I had a c-section too and my gynecologist advice me to wait at least 2 years prior to another pregnancy. She explained me something related the time needed for my internal body to heal completely, but honestly I don't remember very well.

Anyway, I've been waiting and now my son is 2 years.

Should be better you get medical advice in case you're really pregnant.

Congrats for your happy family!!!
Reply:Your doctor needs to make that call - but I think four months is too early. If you are pregnant, you will need extremely close monitoring to make sure your uterus doesn't tear etc. Many birth control pills do make you experience symptoms of pregnancy, so your husband could be right.

How is the best way to cure Hep C plus Hep B?

My mother passed away because of Hep C, a few months a go. Now my dad is showing the symptoms of Hep C. He does not want to meet with a dother coz he know he doesn' have money to get treatments. I am in the state trying to find some cash for his treatment, he is in my home country. I feel helpless. Please help me. God bless you.

How is the best way to cure Hep C plus Hep B?
So sorry about your mother. Recently pegylated interferon has been approved to treat Hepatitis B, as well as Hepatitis C. This combinaton wil treat both forms of hepatitis . If your dad has a gastroenterologist who will prescribe pegylated interferon %26amp; ribavirin, he can apply to the pharmaceutical company's patient assistance program. Both companies that manufacture the drugs (Roche and Schering-Plough) have patient assistance programs. You will need to call them to pre-qualify, then they will send you a packet of information to fill out. You may need to supply income information or a copy of last year's income taxes. Almost everyone qualifies for the program if you have no insurance. They even set up delivery to your home. Since your dad is in another country, you will have to check if the medication or the patient assistance program is available over there. Check out the links below for more info. By the way, I did the treatment 7 years ago for HCV and have been clear ever since. Best wishes.

Reply:Hep C is treated with a form of chemo known as pegylated interfuron/ribaviron. It usually consists of injections and pills. My mother had the treatment and has been clear of Hep C for 8 years now. She had a blood transfusion in the 1960's and contracted the virus from that. I got it from her when I was born and have been on the treatment twice, with no success. I would suggest you and your father going to the local department of public aid office and trying to get medical assistance from there. Good luck and I wish you the best.
Reply:I know that chemo is given to those with hep c, but too my knowledge there is no cure.

Try calling the CDC (center for disease control) it should be in the front of your phone book, tell them the situation and see if they have some options for him. I will keep you guys in our prayers...... God Bless you and your family

Is there easy transportion from Dulles International Airport to the monuments around D.C?

I'm flying to Paris next week, but we have a nine hour layover at Dulles International and my boyfriend %26amp; I were wondering if there's any sort of metro system to take you from the airport to the D.C area? We don't want to stay shacked up in the airport all day, but if we're better off just doing that than risking delays and stuff we will. I appreciate all the help!

Is there easy transportion from Dulles International Airport to the monuments around D.C?
There is a metro bus (I think it's the 5A or maybe the 3A I'm not sure) that goes straight from Dulles to the Rosslyn metro station. You can visit Arlington Cemetery (2 blocks away) while you're there and/or the "Bodies" exhibit that is one block from the metro.

From the metro station, you can also hop on the G-town connector or the 38B and go to Georgetown or you can get on the metro and check out the Museums (either blue or orange line of the metro). 9 hours should be plenty of time for you to at least see something but you'll be able to better manage your time when you get to the airport. Traffic really depends on the time of day that you're going to be traveling and the day of the week.
Reply:With traffic, the bus and metro will take at least 90 minutes each way for a total of 3 hours.

Add an hour or two for going back through security and customs and another hour to travel to the midfield concourses and back and there's 6 of the 9 hours spent on travel which gives 3 hours at the Smithsonian except that what happens if there's a fire in the Metro tunnel and buses are used - there's that 3 hour cushion....

There's the Udvar-Hazy Aerospace Museum which is much closer to Dulles and easily accessible with the Fairfax Connector buses.
Reply:No. There is no easy way to get from the Dulles area to downtown DC. The closest metro station (Vienna metro stop) might be about 30 minutes away if you can find transportation to get there. Your best bet is to call the airport and see if they can put you in touch with some sort of ground transportation that can help you get around.
Reply:I don't think you will have time...it takes at least one hour approx without traffic. check your airline schedule.
Reply:The metro does not service Dulles, but there are options.

Take the Washington Flyer Coach to Falls Church Metro Station ($16 round trip) (leaves every 30 minutes)

Take the Orange Line to Smithsonian Station. You will come up on the middle of the National Mall easy walking to Most monuments.
Reply:Honestly...no. Not yet, they ARE in the process of trying to get a metrorail line out there, but the best thing I can tell you is a cab, and that's not even good! =(

Who do I call to bet a mode c deviation for Logan airport mode c airspace?

According to the law I can fly an uncertified ultralight in mode c airspace as long as I get a deviation 1 hour prior to flight.

Do I call logan or the boston consolidated tracon? Who should I talk to and what do I ask them for? Also If anyone has the phone number or web adress would help me out alot

Who do I call to bet a mode c deviation for Logan airport mode c airspace?
You will want to call your local Flight Standards District Office (FSDO). They are responsible for issuing permits for ferrying non-transponder equipped aircraft.

How long did it take to recover from c section pain?

I was just wondering how long it took most women to recover from their c section pain, and the wound to heal. It's been a little over a week since mine and i dont really have any pain. My staples are already out and my doc says i can remove the tape if i want. I drove about the 3rd day after the c section and i have been going to the store almost everyday. I just have heard alot of women say that they couldnt drive for like 4 weeks and they couldnt even bathe themselves. I was just wanting to see if anyone else had a fairly quick recovery. Alot of women have been telling me I shouldnt drive or anything yet, but if it doesnt hurt and you can buckle up and all that, why wouldnt you. ya know?

How long did it take to recover from c section pain?
Well, I don't see anything wrong with driving but however, You may want to be safe when it comes to lifting.Heavy objects or things can cause a sudden pulling in that area and it to can get really ugly and become reopened or ripped. This can most definitely strain your healing process by sending you right back to the Hospital for more stitches and staples.Remember you are trying to recover. Some Women recovers faster than others.Just like you I have also heard different things for example, you can't eat certain foods or you will start to have birthing pains again.Believe me, It gets weirder every time. But however, from experience I have also had a C Section and I was up and doing things in good timing. It Sounds Like you are doing great. As far as bathing for me, My Doctor suggested that I take Showers instead for about 2 weeks than Back to my normal bathing routine. But besides all of this, again I think you are doing good,Keep up with your recovery and Congratulations on your new Baby.
Reply:nowadays i dont feel you have so much of pain, after your C section, my was also the same like you...

but i would still advise you to take care, as now i feel the pain sometimes.. i feel that time i should have taken a gud rest,,, so that now i would feel gud..
Reply:I've had two sections, and the pain was most intense during the first few days and while breast-feeding those days. Within a week, I too was up and on the go, but didn't want to drive. I made hubby do that just because I wanted to. A c-section is major abdominal surgery and while the outer layer of skin may heal within days, it takes weeks for the muscle layers underneath to properly heal. Muscle is not generated nearly as fast as skin and therefore is slower to heal.

Suddenly stopping in a car could also cause major internal damage with little skin damage in this condition. Considering what you just went through, wouldn't you want to rest up and take advantage of people offering to take you places or chauffeur you and baby around? I just wanted to rest up and enjoy the view from the rear seat next to my little baby!!!

But to answer the question, pain was gone within a few days (less than week), external wound healed within 1 to 2 weeks, but internally, muscle layers several weeks.

At your six week check-up, Dr usually feels and presses on your abdomen to assess the healing condition of the muscles and gauge your reaction to the poking and prodding as an indicator, also of course, by exactly what they feel as well!
Reply:About two weeks for me and I was back to normal. I took showers for myself and stuff though from day one. The pain subsides gradually and by 1 to 1.5 weeks should be fine, maybe occasional cramping or little twinges. The only thing I would say about waiting to drive until your wound heals completely is that in case you were to have an accident it could very well cause a much more major problem. I also had to be careful with my last one because we lived on the third floor and lots of steep stairs, wow that sucked. But overall with my three c-sections I recovered fairly quickly, and after the first few days I actually felt pretty good.
Reply:I had c section on the 14/8/07 and i was fine within 4 days . I bathe myself from day one

its really up to you to keep things as normal as possible i would say it psychological
Reply:One of the big differences is the type of cut they made to do the C-section... if you had the across the body kind that is way down under your belly they say your recovery is faster and easier.

Whereas the emergency type that are up and down from your belly button to your pubic hair are harder to recover from and heal after. Largely because the cut is more extensive and the way they tear at your muscles is more extensive.

My first c-section was done in an emergency and so my second one my ob had to do it the same way but I must say that heal from this one is going better than the first but it is slow going. I am on day five and while I was showering and a lot of thing right away even riding in the car is painful so, for me driving is a dream yet! I was told three weeks to drive.

But the pain is going away pretty quickly and right now it mostly the muscles inside... The weirdest thing has been when it hurt to pee. Not like from the folly or a bladder infection but like things settling down inside my belly as my bladder emptied! The first two days after the folly that was horrible but it is even getting better.
Reply:I had an emergency c-section, and I can tell you that they don't cut you up and down from the belly button, they can do a bikini cut. I didn't heal as fast as I would have liked. It took me about 8 weeks. I couldn't drive at all, carry mt daughter in her car seat, bend over, shower by myself, or anything! It was hard. Every women is different. We all heal different, some faster than others. My sister felt great the day she left the hospital, Needed no medication for pain and could drive too. She was like you. They say not to drive for at least 6 weeks even if you are feeling great because accidents may occur and hurt you severly. It's only a recommendation though. I say good for you for being able to go about you day without any troubles. Keep on driving. You sure are one of the lucky ones! Take Care %26amp; Be safe!
Reply:I was fine two days later. I still didn't drive until two weeks later or lift anything heavier than 10 lbs for three weeks because I was afraid of internal bleeding. Now, at ten weeks postpartum, I jog, go on amusement park rides, lift weights, etc. Numbness may last up to a year at the incision and surrounding tissues my doctor said, but by three months you are fully healed.
Reply:I was fine in a week too.
Reply:Actually it's not that women can't drive after a C section, it's that they should NOT drive after a C section for at least six weeks. The reason being that a C section is MAJOR abdominal surgery and IF the woman is driving get s into an accident her stomach hitting the steering wheelalong with the pressure from the air bag and seat belt can cause major internal bleeding followed by her death. When I had my C section I listened to the instructions my doctor gave me...I wanted to be sure I'd be alive to raise my child. I suggest you follow your doctor's orders, it takes over a year to completely heal from abdominal surgery. Unless you want to wind up with a mass of scar tissue and hernias for the rest of your life that will require more abdominal sugeries...
Reply:They do not want you to drive because if you have an accident or slam on your breaks and get jarred forward your incision could pop open. Just because you feel fine does not mean your body is fully healed. However if going to the store is more important then your health to each their own.
Reply:I was fine in a week.I think it depends from person to person. Some women feel pain for longer because they are more scared from the idea what happend to them then the reality.

I've also herd that slimmer people recover faster,I'm not sure if that's true?!

Just take care of your self and dont push it.

Is there a way to put a VHS-C tape into a computer without using camera?

I have a camcorder that only has a usb connection so video can not be transfered from the camera to the computer. Is there something like an adapter where I can run the tape through right into the computer bypassing the camera itself? I think it uses VHS-C or something like that. I have a mac by the way.

Is there a way to put a VHS-C tape into a computer without using camera?
I believe such an adapter would be called a "tape player." I mean, you could try to jam the tape into the CD-ROM drive or something, but I doubt it would work.

You'll either need to connect the camcorder to the PC, or put the tape into a full-size VHS adapter and connect a VCR to the PC. You'll also need an analog-to-digital converter of some kind on the PC end, which is a separate piece of hardware, often with a USB connection to the PC and video and audio inputs for the camcorder/VCR.

If this seems too complicated, you should probably pay somebody else to digitize your tapes. It's not a simple thing.
Reply:What sort of camcorder have you got (make and model)? VHS-C camcorders don't have USB connections (but Macs do), and camcorders that only have a USB connection don't use tapes. Are you sure your camcorder's "USB" connection isn't a firewire (DV or iLink) connection? If it is, just use a firewire cable.

Why is my temp gauge not moving from C on my 98 Honda Civic?

I have a 98 Honda Civic, and the temp gauge just sits on C, which I assume means that my engine is running cold. My check engine light came on a couple of days ago, but I couldn't see, hear, or find anything wrong; now, all of a sudden, my gauge won't move from the C. What damage can be done by continuing to drive my car? What can I do to fix the problem? What is the problem?

Why is my temp gauge not moving from C on my 98 Honda Civic?
it sounds like a coolant temperature sensor is out you could lose some gas mileage and your engine could overheat because the cooling fan may not come on. you can go to schucks and use their code scanner to make sure and the sensor shouldn't be that expensive but it might be a pain to get to.
Reply:Most advance auto parts stores will scan your car for free, just walk in and ask if it can be done on your car. They can tell you exactly what's wrong, and you should be in and out in less than 10 minutes.
Reply:if the heater is still working, then only the sensor is bad, and also telling the computer wrong information. Makes the light come on.

If you have NO heat, then the thermostat is full open and you are not coming up to temp, and the computer is sensing that. and turning the light on.

Heat or no heat?? that is the question.
Reply:It could mean many things, from a faulty sensor,

to lack of coolant.

Have it checked.

Can a window A/C unit work if it is set on a table instead of being in a window?

Well, I just moved into a new house and my A/C Unit will not fit into the window without some MAJOR work. Someone told me that you can place them in a closed room on a table and that they will still work the same, but instead they just keep recycling the air.

Does this really work? and is it safe?

Can a window A/C unit work if it is set on a table instead of being in a window?
You could set it on a table, but you still need to vent the warm air (from the condenser) to the outside via a flexible duct or something, otherwise, the warm air that comes out of the unit will compete with the cool air that comes out of the front. You will still be circulating the same air in the room; only the heat will be vented outside. I hope this helps.
Reply:You would also need some kind of drain since air conditioning pulls water out of the air. Report It

Reply:Not at all. An air-conditioner is a heat exchanger. the heat has to go outside so the cool can be inside. No not on a table inside the hous.
Reply:Nobody mentioned that air conditioners also DRIP water. Usually the water drips outside, if the air conditioner is in a window.

I wouldn't put it inside on a table, you might as well have a heater running in the house.

Can't you buy a smaller unit for the window?
Reply:other answers are correct,a/c's transfer heat so heat must be discharged outside.go to wally world and get a 79.95 throwaway unit.it will last 3 to 5 years and then get another one.

Should I be using Heat Recovery or Normal mode on my Central A/C?

I've read up on heat recovery and understand the basics of what it does, but I'm really wondering is it better? I live in Florida, so its humid often, especially now in the summer, and the a/c gets a pretty heavy workout. So will using the heat recovery option save me money? Will it cool faster? Should I use it all the time or when its humid out or when its dry? Should I only use it if I think my house is too "sealed" and I'm not getting enough fresh air?

Should I be using Heat Recovery or Normal mode on my Central A/C?
You should take a look at a site I found. Brownshc.com is a great source of information for everything heating, cooling, hvac and plumbing. I called them and they have great customer service and were very knowledgeable about my heating and cooling systems. You should definitely check out their site and consider giving them a call.

Best way to install a window a/c unit?

As an electrician, I've installed pad mounted a/c's, rooftop residential and commercial a/c's, NEVER have installed a window unit. Anyone know how to properly do this? It's freckin HOT %26amp; HUMID in the house I'm renting from a slumlord (nice house and neighborhood, IMPOSSIBLE to get him to fix anything) in California (So Cal). Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Best way to install a window a/c unit?
It's really simple. Small ones just pop into the window, you pull the window down, put the brackets undermeath it so that it's supported on the outside against the wall or window sill with about 1/4 inch slant down so it drains and pull the slider thingies to each side and you're done. I drill a hole in the top side of the botttom window and put a nail through so that someone cannot just push the window up. I also cut the packing foam and put it behind the side slider thingies so that the hot air can't get in there. You're supposed to put a long thin piece of foam underneath the a/c to stop air flow and I put another one between the top of the bottom part of the window and the top window pane. If you don't get the slider thingies, you will have to cut plywood or whatever is necessary to fill in the sides. You can also put 2x4's or whatever is necessary for support in the back. I try to anchor the heck out of everything so that they are not easy to get out and burglers get in. I guess someone tried to push one of mine in and when they couldn't get it pushed in, they stabbed the a/c and watched all the freon come out. I had a friend repair it and he puts in red dye with the freon so it's easy to spot the next would be thief. Lots of luck. You can also go online and get instructions for the proper installation of your unit from the maker.
Reply:Give "just wondrerin" the 10 points that is exactly what you should do, it makes sense for a slum lord property.
Reply:Buy a portable and place in front of window.
Reply:I would suggest that if you really are renting from a slumlord that is a jerk, anything that you install (even a window banger) becomes part of the property, and he can hold you to it. I would suggest that you consider a portable A/C unit. It can be moved from room to room and you only need to "install" a place for the exhaust hose to go to the outside. They look like an R2D2 droid as far as size goes and they work very well.

What size window A/C unit would be most efficient for a 280 sq ft room?

What is the formula for Btu vs room size?

I don't want this to be oversized either as I don't have a lot of power options %26amp; I'm trying to squeeze everything I can from (1) 15Amp circuit. This room will also have (2) c. fans, a mini-frig, (2) small flat screen tvs, a stereo %26amp; some lights.

Because of all this %26amp; my reluctance to put in another circuit, it needs to be (as close to) exactly the right size unit as possible so it'll work, but not pull too much amperage.

What size window A/C unit would be most efficient for a 280 sq ft room?
Assuming you don't really want to see the engineering formula for calculating BTU vs room size, rate of cooling, total temperature drop, etc, see this table http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=ho... which includes a chart halfway through the article that suggests your room would best be suited with a 7000 BTU A/C. These typically run at about 850 watts. Assuming you are on a 15A circuit, this leaves you with about 500 watts to spread over your other fans/frig/TV, etc. If you have a big stereo, you may need to change your music choice from "hot hiphop" to "cool rock" to avoid blowing your circuit breaker. LOL.

If you add up your power consumption and find an AC makes you give up too many of your toys, consider using a smaller AC or an evaporative cooler like this http://www.amazon.com/Sunpentown-Portabl... . This evaporative cooler is only 60 watts, leaving plenty of power for your other devices. Another advantage is that it is a lot CHEAPER to run than an A/C because there is no compressor (in this comparison, it is about 8x cheaper). Main disadvantages are that it will not cool the room as cold as an AC, you need to periodically fill the cooler with water (after several days), and it does not work well in a high humidity environment.
Reply:I agree to a degree with answer one. a room that size IE: 20 x 14 can be made comfortable with a 5000 BTU window unit, and they are less than $100, and if it's a dedicated breaker at 110 you'll have no problem.

The issue is a bit larger however, in that the room you wish to cool should likely be closed off for maximum effect. Obviously if there are doors open, or an open passage way/arch, to another room; you'll not only overwork the unit, but the power drain will be more.

Without knowing at all the current electrical setup regarding what receptacles are on what breakers, it's a bit nebulous to say.

Most obvious initially is for you to know what appliances/etc. are on what breaker/ breakers. I suspect for the AC; you need another. Your drain/load is probably close to max now, if you happened to have everything you mention, functioning on one circuit.

Reply:Some fact and figures by Fedders Air Conditioners I think 5000 btu's is a little on the light side. I would run a seperate circuit regardless, as you see they recommend 7000 btu's.

240 sq. ft. 7,000 Btu. X Chassis models– fits between 19" to 36" width by 12 3/4" minimum height window opening 125 volts 15 amps

From another source sizing requirements:

FOOTAGE BTU'S REQUIRED

250-300 7,000

300-350 8,000

350-450 10,000

450-650 12,000

650-850 13,000

850-1,100 18,000

1,100-1,400 24,000

1,400-1,800 25,000

1,800-2,500 29,000

Please note-

- Add BTU by 10% for sunny areas

- Add BTU by 10% for second story (or higher) rooms

- Add 4,000 BTU if area to be cooled is in the kitchen

- Add 600 BTU for each additional person (using room) over 2 persons
Reply:Considering your 15 amp power circuit, I would use the smallest size. 4000 or 5000 btu will cool 280 sq ft no problem. Smaller ones are also quieter.

How can I move programs from my C drive to my E drive on my computer?

Like all the Java updates and such that are taking up space on my C drive. I have 1% space of C and 98% on E drive.

How can I move programs from my C drive to my E drive on my computer?
Reinstall to your E: drive, otherwise just cut %26amp; paste
Reply:you can go to your PF then cut and paste, that's what i do, and it works for me.
Reply:if they're installed programs, uninstall and reinstall on E:

if they're just files you downloaded, just highlight then cut and paste them into a folder on your E: drive.
Reply:right click and then click move to...
Reply:open my computer and go into your c drive ,right click on the programmes you want to move, hover over send to%26gt; then my computer. then go back to my computer, and the programmes should be there, then click and drag the programmes over to your e drive.
Reply:Uninstall them and reinstall them on the E: drive.
Reply:system updates such as those for java, must be on the c drive.

you should uninstall programs that are installed on c:, then reinstall them and when it asks you, install them to e:\%26lt;program%26gt;.

basically any optional programs installed on your system can be reinstalled to e:.

hope that helps!
Reply:If they are windows programme or updates you are talking abt then you really cant do anything abt them but..why dont you move all your applications and personal files to E drive? To move files..you simply have to cut pase from C to E..do you wanna know how thts done?

To move the Application progs from C to E..there is no other way but to uninstall it from C (by going to Control Panel and using the Add/Remove functionality) and then re-installing it on E. Let me knw if you got any queries on this.
Reply:do u mean d drive..??

and open ur c drive press ctrl and a and drag it over , making sure you have the oter drives window open next to it lol
Reply:On Windows XP or Vista you can just select all of the files and simply click and drag. Then go through and delete them from the C drive by clicking REMOVE....DO NOT PRESS DELETE or it will erase them all together.
Reply:What you want to do is open up your c drive folder. Then if you have a pc which I think you do hit control a to select all of the documents. Then drag them to your e drive. That should be good.

How do I stop from catching hep c from my partner?

I have asked allot of questions about hep c on yahoo answers and have found out lots of intresting stuff from qualified people. The truth is I am in love with a man I have started seeing who is newly diagnosed as hep c. He is going to see a specialist soon to start treatment. He is 36 and has prob had it for 6 years. I am worried about catching it although we know sexual transmission is low with protection and to cover cuts so on. I am also worried about losing him early to cirrhosis even though he is going to have treatment. I am 28 and we would like children. Has anybody else been in this position and could it work out okay. What is the chance of household transmission if we live together? Can he recover completely after treatment and not suffer cirrhosis?Serious answers please.

How do I stop from catching hep c from my partner?
you could try sperm washing for the children you want.use condoms no oral sex.keep cuts or grazes covered.good luck
Reply:First of all, two wrong answers. There is no vaccine for HCV. Second of all, there is no such thing as fraternal infection of HCV to an unborn child. The risk is low in maternal transmission of HCV and if the mother had hcv, c-sections prevent the HCV infection from occuring.

Stephanie:

If your still worried about the advice I as well as other qualified persons have given you, the best thing is go with your boyfriend to the liver specialist and have him explain it. I have never given anyone Hepatitis C, nor do my kids have HCV.

This is also true of millions of others when one person has hcv.

Household transmission is almost non exsistant if you take precautions with sharps. (razors, toothbrushes or any other sharp object your boyfriend might of used and accidentally cut himself).

Again, semen itself does not have active HCV virons in it. These are "corpuscles"-a part of HCV that is being flushed from the body- they are not transferrable because they are not alive.

Please seek the advice of the doctor who will be treating your boyfriend-and do not try to become pregnant while he is on medications for treatment as they can cause serious birth defects.

Good luck and HUGS!

Reply:get the vaccine. hep c is not curable, but it can be treated. you can prevent youself from getting it by getting a vaccine. get regularly tested. the safest way to have children is artificial insemination or adoption. if he avoids alcohol he may be able to save his liver from cirrhosis. but he has to drink lots of fluids and see a doctor regularly for treatment. its great that you want to stick by his side through this. he cannot recover completely but things may become easier to deal with.

What was or has been the hardest part of recovering from a c-section?

I'm 12 days post c-section and I think the hardest part from recovering for me has been emotionally. The reason is because I have a two year old daughter and it hurts me that I can't pick her up and I think she resents me for bringing home another baby. So for me it's definitely emotional. As for the physical part the hardest thing for me has been the sore abdomen. I feel nothing on the incision area but I'm still really sore around my lower abs. What has been the hardest part for you?

What was or has been the hardest part of recovering from a c-section?
OMG - I can't believe what a jerk your husband was for saying that. As a matter of fact, you are recovering from MAJOR abdominal surgery and he SHOULD be treating you as someone who is recovering and somewhat incapacitated and unable to perform normal functions. A C-section is serious business, that's why there are so many people against elective C-sections. I wasn't even allowed to drive my car the first two weeks post C-section. Also with a C-section the government gives you 8 weeks post partum to recover (rather than 6 weeks for a normal delivery). He should be WAY MORE sympathetic and helpful.

There were many things I was unable to do after my c-section. I was emotional; I couldn't laugh or sneeze; it was hard to get in and out of bed; it was hard to sit down and stand up; it was hard to hold my baby against the incision site; and it was hard to walk and move around in general.

The first two weeks of my recovery my husband helped out a lot. I barely changed a diaper. Then my mom came and pitched in. Try to get someone to come and help you as much as you can. If you are unable to have someone help, just let some of the chores go for a while, at least until you're feeling physically better (for me that was around 6 weeks, but I felt even better after 8). Have your daughter come to you and snuggle with her and the new baby in bed, show her that there is more than enough love for both of them.

Lastly, don't beat yourself up too much. I was an emotional wreck post-partum, but was in total denial that I had PPD.

Congratulations and good luck. :o)
Reply:I had my c sec. in April. The hardest part for me was emotional. THen when my husband went back to work I was even more upset. Being a first time mom it was not easy.
Reply:The hardest part for me was getting out of bed. When my vicodin prescription ran out I was still in a lot of pain. I'm not sure what the motrin was for...in case I got a headache? It sure didn't help the pain. I didn't feel "normal" till at least 6 weeks post op for both my C sections.
Reply:the hardest part was getting up either from sitting or laying down and using the toilet my bed was up really high i had to use a little stool to get into it and the only way i felt comfortable was on a certain side and i had to get up with my daughter about 3 times a night it got to the point where after a week i slept on the couch and propped myself up and had her sleep in the pack n play right near the couch and i started using the coffee table as a table to hold the wipes the diapers the bottles for that day and the formula lol so i didnt have to get up to much and she wound up sleeping with me on the couch after a couple nights it hurt sooo bad to get up and walking i was sooo slow that bothered me big time because i wasnt able to walk good i wasnt able to take care of my child the right way meaning her sleeping in her crib me sleeping in my bed and having to stay on the couch for the first few weeks of her life that was hard once i was able to move around good again i was in heaven i didnt have staples i had the dissolvable stitches which wound breaking open and i moved i felt something wet and i was drenched in yellow pussy looking bloody **** called the dr and they kept telling me it was fine went in to see them oh its fine i wound up having to wear a towel right there under my pants because it would leak every so often now 9 months later it gets red and hurts every so often and now i have nothing but back pain thinking about this makes me NOT want to have another kid lol i wanted to try natural but the cord was around her shoulder and neck which made her like a yo yo she never would have come down so i needed to have a csection in a way i thank god i wasnt in labor that long and didnt experience all that pain but the after effect from a csection is probably soooo much worse
Reply:Having bad allergies and asthma, the worst part was trying to stifle a sneeze or a cough. Both were agony. During my recovery, a pillow was my friend. If I felt either coming on, or even getting out of bed, I'd press my extra pillow tightly to my abdomen to support it so I wouldn't injure myself further.
Reply:My second son was born via c-section two years ago (will be 2 years ago in July), but I remember VERY vividly the worst part--sitting on the toilet. LOL Didn't have any problems using the toilet, but it was the act of sitting down (then standing back up!) afterwards. It's amazing what you use your ab muscles for that you don't realize. :) Close second would be lying down in/getting up from bed.

My other son was 16 months old when his brother was born, and we didn't have a problem with picking him up. I'd sit on the sofa and have him crawl up and sit next to me. Plenty easy to give hugs like that. :) I couldn't lift him into or out of his crib, but that's what my husband was for. :)

I just wish all the women who WANT elective c-sections would realize that it's NOT some piece of cake. We're not movie stars who can hire 24/7 nannies to do all the hard stuff for us!! :)
Reply:Same as you, the hardest part was not being able to pick up my daughter, she was only 15 months old when I had my second. She got sick, just a cold, after 3 weeks and I starting picking her up then. How could I not pick up a sick child?! Physically I didn't have any problems, I was off any pain medication after a week. I still have a strange feeling (not really numbness) above my incision site 16 1/2 months later, but it doesn't bother me.

I also still have a regret that I never delivered a baby naturally. My first was breech, so I had a scheduled c-section with her. Then I was hoping for a VBAC, but my second had a health problem that meant he had to be delivered early and they won't induce you after a c-section. So I had another scheduled c-section. I never even went into labor! I know it doesn't matter and all that matters is I have 2 beautiful (and now healthy) children, but I still wish it could have been different!
Reply:I had my baby by c section 4 wks ago and the hardest part for me is getting out of bed when the baby awakens. Im still very sore. Plus I have a 17 month old and she always wants me to hold her.or pick her up. My incision is infected so Im on antibiotics.
Reply:The hardest part for me was everything! I was so sore, I could hardly move, but I had no choice but to. The Hospital made me take a shower the next morning, less than 24 hours, and remove my own covering and replace it myself. I have odd relationships with my family, so the only ones that came to see me did not stay more than 10 mins, including my husband because he had to get rides from others, but I could tell he did not want to be there anyway (he hates hospitals). So, I was alone, and trying to cope with extream pain and and new baby that I was breast feeding (another thing that hurt like hell, even at birth my son had a superhuman sucker). Then, when I was released, I had to go take care of all the business that had piled up while I was in the hospital. I had to go see my lawyer, I was setteling a lawsuit, put my rent, which my husband forgot and was now late, and the list goes on. I then had to drive anywhere we went, even though my husband was perfectly able, he refused. The 1st week while I still had my staples was the worst week of my life. Both my son and I cried all the time. I had to stop breast feeding as it hurt too much, and he litterally ate all day, he only stopped to get his diaper changed and burp, even then it was against his will. I wish I could go back and try it over again, because it should have been the best time in my life. But when I look back, all I can remember is the pain. Both physical and emotional. I am now doing much better, and my son is wonderful. He is 6 months old, and never cries, even though I still do sometimes, but tears of joy mostly. The insicion is not painful, but every once in a while, it is for about 30 seconds, then it goes away. I have yet to get att the feeling back around it (they cut through nervs and muscle), but it is getting better. Just remember, things WILL get better. Try to create some happy memories in these early days so you can have something nice to look back on. Congratrs on the new baby, and good luck!
Reply:Mine actually was a breeze. I only have 1 child for now and I had no pain or any problems. The only thing I had a hard time with was 6 months before mine my friend almost died from a loss of blood. When they told me I had to have one I lost it and cried all the way to the room. The other bad part was during the surgery I had a RLS episode, and all I felt like I had to do was run, but I couldn't move my legs...LOL I can only imagine how hard it is for the 2 year old but that is totally normal. Good luck!
Reply:Omg! The hardest part for me was trying to move with those darn staples in my stomach. They hurt so bad they pain killer helped but I had a UTI and since I was on pain meds I couldn't feel any pain down there so it turned into a Kidney infection and I didn't know what was goin on but I was sick for days it was awful. But emotionally I felt great cuz I had just brought a new baby boy into the world even though my husband was bein an a** the baby made me smile through all the pain!
Reply:same as you-but it gets easier-don't worry-good luck
Reply:My hardest part was also my other children I couldn't pick them up or play with them and when I had my Csection I had a 10 month old and a 4 yr old so I had to try and do everything for the 10 month old without picking her up. Your older child will go back to normal when you do, just make sure you have some really good emotional support. I had my mom to help with alot of it and there dad was great about it too. Even if you didn't have a Csection your oldest would still be a little bit jealous that is natural for all kids after a new baby comes. Try to get your older one involved in changing the baby clotes feeding and things like that my oldest daughter loved it. Here soon though you will be back to doing all that you were doing.
Reply:The hardest part was that I never realized how much I used my ab muscles. In the hospital I never really held my son that much b/c it was too uncomfortable for me so my husband held him more than I did and that was upsetting for me and then coming home and still hurting and not taking the pain meds b/c i was too afraid I would not wake up when my son cried.......it was just all around hard!!

I did my tax return a week ago and today a 1099-c was in the mail which i did not report?

Well a week ago i did my taxes then yesterday a 1099-c(cancelation of debt) came in the mail and it is in the amount of 1000$. I was just wondering can i still report it or is it too late. Can i report this next year. I do not want to get in trouble with the IRS and be penaltilized. What do i do, thanks!

I did my tax return a week ago and today a 1099-c was in the mail which i did not report?
No, don't wait until next year. You need to amend your return to include this income. It should not make a huge difference in your tax return, but you will likely have to repay a portion of your refund to the IRS. Do so right away--you're right to not want to get into any trouble with the IRS. You need a copy of your return already filed in order to make the amended return. Your preparer will have your return in their computers. Expect to pay $50-100 for an amendment. You have until 4-15-08 to file your amended return and pay the IRS--DO IT as soon as you receive your refund check.
Reply:You need to file an amended 1040X tax return. Wait a couple of weeks for your original return to be processed and then file it. Or the IRS may catch it first and notify you and then you still just file an 1040X.
Reply:That is why you wait to do your taxes. If you have filed them already you are SOL. And no, you cannot claim it on next years taxes.
Reply:No you can't wait until next year, you will have to amend your 2007 return, the one you just filed, and report it there.
Reply:You should file an ammended return for this year.
Reply:File an amended return ASAP. You're not in trouble--dates show you couldn't file it earlier.

How much does running the A/C blower cost?

We recently ran our A/C fan with the cool and heat settings to off, and noticed it was a lot cooler in the house than before the fan was running. I have always known that under many conditions a whole house fan can bring cooler air into the home, but for some reason I have a mindblock regarding turning on the A/C blower without the A/C actually being on. Is it very much more expensive to run the A/C with cool than without (i.e. could I run the full A/C for 25% more $$$ and be 100% comfortable, or is blower only a lot more inexpensive?).

How much does running the A/C blower cost?
Most furnace fans are 1/5 horsepower while compressor motors are more like 2 horsepower so there is no comparison to how much they cost, the furnace fan is about a dollar a day. What you will find is that the basement will warm up and the fan will not cool you anymore when it is hot enough outside.

Can I get hepatis c from my partner by having unprotected sex?

I just learned that my new partner has hep c. I was wondering is it possible for me to get it by having unprotected sex with him.

Can I get hepatis c from my partner by having unprotected sex?
First, Hep C is not an STD. It is a blood born disease. The only way you will get it through unprotected sex is if blood is involved. It's NOT passed from bodily fluids i.e. semen, saliva, sweat, etc. Just blood. So if there is no blood present, you have nothing to worry about. But, it is always smart to use a condom with a person, whether they have Hepatitis C or not.

EDIT: To prove how hard it is to receive Hep C through sexual contact, I would like to state: My mom contracted Hep C from a blood transfusion in the late 1960's. She has been married to my dad for 35 years and he has never contracted it. I have had Hep C for 19 years. I got it from my mom when I was born. I have been with my husband since I was a freshman in high school. That was over 5 years ago. (We will be married 2 years on the 21st.) He is Hep C free as well. Both my dad and my husband have been tested numerous times and they are both free of the virus.
Reply:Yes you can.
Reply:Absolutely, although it is not easy to contract. Hepatitis C is a blood borne pathogen. Vaginal intercourse is not a primary method of transmission. Anal sex and IV drug use is way more common. Don't fool yourselft though...condomns offer fantastic protection from Hep C.
Reply:yes
Reply:Yes. Although Hepatitis C is considered a bloodborne pathogen, the vagina is a mucous membrane and therefore may absorb even miniscule amounts of blood easily.

Hepatitis C may be present in an amount of blood too microscopic to be viewed with the naked eye (i.e., nonintact skin on your partner's penis).

According to the CDC, the role of sexual activity in transmitting Hepatitis C is controversial (in other words, they don't really know). They say "Hepatitis C is not efficiently transmitted sexually". http://www.cdc.gov/std/treatment/2006/he...

What do I say? Use condoms.
Reply:Uhh, Yea!

In tank circuit, what does changing ratio between L and C for a given frequency do?

I know the formula for tank resonance, but am wondering how having big L and small C (or vice versa) differs from medium L and medium C if both give the same frequency.

Does the ratio affect the Q, the efficiency, or something else?

How do I calculate what L and C I need in order to ensure maximum energy sloshing between the two?

In tank circuit, what does changing ratio between L and C for a given frequency do?
The ratio of inductance to capacitance sets the Q

For a series resonant circuit Q can be given by:

Q = (ω0*L)/R = (1/R)*sqrt (L/C)

For a parallel resonant circuit Q can be given by:

Q = R/(ω0*L) = R/sqrt(L/C)

Where ω0 = 1/sqrt(L*C) and is the resonant frequency.

One should note that the Q is affected differently by L %26amp; C depending on whether you are designing a series or parallel resonant circuit. It is clear by looking at the series circuit equation, that the Q increases as L increases and C decreases. For the parallel circuit, the Q increases as L decreases and C increases.

Finally, Q is a measure of how much energy a tank circuit can store.

Q = ω * (energy stored / power lost)

If you want the maximum energy "sloshing around" as you say, design your circuit for the maximum Q.

Regards,

Dave
Reply:In theory, a wide range of L and C values will resonate at the same frequency as long as the ratio remains the same. In practice, there is never any such thing as a pure L or C component. Capacitors have inductance and resistance in their leads, and Inductors (coils) have parasitic capacitance between their ends as well as resistance in their conductive parts. So in practice, your choice of appropriate L and C values will be limited by these practical considerations.

The ratio of L to C will also affect the selectivity of the circuit.

A parallel LC circuit will have greater selectivity (narrower band pass of frequencies around the resonant frequency) with higher capacitance values and lower inductance values.

Maximum energy storage in a tank circuit is attained by having high "Q" coils (inductors) - this means low resistance conductors, and if a ferrite core is used, choosing one with the lowest hysteresis losses. High Q also gives the narrowest passband of nearby frequencies - not necessarily a good thing if you intend to pass modulation sidebands that bear information.

How long did your incision from your c-section take to heal?

I had a c-section almost 8 weeks ago and it is still bleeding a little bit off and on. It isn't bleeding a lot, it's just a little. My dr says its okay, but I've never had that happen with my other c-sections.

How long did your incision from your c-section take to heal?
My c-section was healed completely by 8 weeks. My doctor said that a lot of woman whose belly's take longer to "shrink" often times there incisions will take longer to heal simply because of the friction caused by the skin rubbing together and wettness from sweating being trapped under there. If your doctor doesn't seem to think there is anything wrong thre probably isn't...maybe your just a slow healer! Good Luck!
Reply:Its not your first, but at least your third from what you say. They take a little longer as you will be very active with your family life and not just coping with one child.

The scar tissue from before may have been reduced for you to which means a little more work for the body to do internally to heal.

Just try not to over-do it, although I know that's difficult to achieve if you've 3 or more children to take care of.

Don't worry.
Reply:Mine took about 2 weeks , it was barely visible after the procedure. She did a wonderful job.

My first csec took about 6 weeks and left a horrible scar.
Reply:i have had on c section and it healed right away. i mean my staples were removed after 3 days and in a few more days it looked completely healed /in my 6 week appintment i could hardly see the scar. but i am sure if u have more then one iot takes longer
Reply:I had a c-section almost three weeks ago and mine is already healed and not bleeding anymore. It is s till sore in the inside tho.

C++............?

hi...

i need to create a class called 'expression' and include appropriate member functions to covert a valid infix expression to postfix form...can any one explain ...hw to do this??..

pls hep me write a program for this.....

C++............?
you get help from http://tutorialofc.blogspot.com/
Reply:There are a number of ways to do this. I think it might boil down to whether you want to create a parse tree of the infix expression, say with each node holding either a value or an operator and the left and right nodes for an operator node being the values or subexpressions combined by that operator; or you create a postfix stack as you parse the expression.

How I solve the problem might depend on what else I need to do with the class. For example, if the class exists only to do this conversion, then it's a waste of a class because this can be done with a handful of recursive functions. So I'm betting the class might also be used to calculate the value of the expression or as part of a larger parser, like the front end of a compiler.

With that in mind I might parse the infix expression into the tree I described above. Such a tree can be easily walked to find a value for the expression or walked in another way to create the postfix stack.

I'm sure the differences between infix and postfix were discussed in class, and by now you've had sufficient exposure to data structures to build the trees. Good luck.

Why does the fan from my a/c unit not work?

I have a York a/c unit. Occasionally my fan blade will not rotate whenever the unit comes on. I then have to manually use an object to push the blade in order for the fan to start rotating. Although this ends up working, sometimes it takes a little while for it to start rotating.

What could be causing this? Could it be the fan motor, compressor, capacitors, etc...?

Why does the fan from my a/c unit not work?
It could be the run capacitor or the motor itself going bad. You can find a step by step troubleshooting guide on the air conditioner page at http://www.hvac-for-beginners.com
Reply:sounds like yuor fan need bushing (need fan motor change wires)or you could pull it out and spray motor oil into its rotating shaft and if did not work, call repairman and tell them your fan need rebushing.fan capacitor and other works fine because if capacitor shorted, then no matter how u push the blade to get it started spinning,it's not gonna work.
Reply:It sounds like the windings or brushes inside of the motor are going bad. This could be due to a dust buildup, corrosion from exposure to water, it ran out of grease, or simple wear and tear if used a lot. If you have a model number, you can look up the fan motor to replace it on this site... http://www.apwagner.com

How to find the Horizontal Shift, C, of sinusoidal equations?

I am unsure of how to find the Horizontal Shift, C, in a sinusoidal equation.

y = Asin(B + C) + D

I've been working through problems and looked at a few resources (books and online) to help me but most of them breeze through how to get the horizontal shift and I can't seem to find where the numbers come from.

Anyone have any examples or suggestions on resources I could use? I am able to find the other numbers but just need help with horizontal shift.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

How to find the Horizontal Shift, C, of sinusoidal equations?
The Horizontal shift of a sine graph is the C. To shift it C units to the left, you would have a positive C while to shift it C units to the right you have to have a negative C

How does vitamin c work in my body?

My mom is always telling me that need vitamin c becase it helps me from getting sick. How does that work?

How does vitamin c work in my body?
The most important for vitamin c that it is necessary for ur body to use the iron , vitamin E,vitamin A...and it is important to build the collagen of the skin and tissue:

As a participant in hydroxylation, vitamin C is needed for the production of collagen in the connective tissue. These fibers are ubiquitous throughout the body; providing firm but flexible structure. Some tissues have a greater percentage of collagen, especially: skin, mucous membranes, teeth and bones.

Vitamin C is required for synthesis of dopamine, noradrenaline and adrenaline in the nervous system or in the adrenal glands.

Vitamin C is also needed to synthesize carnitine, important in the transfer of energy to the cell mitochondria.

It is a strong antioxidant.

The tissues with greatest percentage of vitamin C — over 100 times the level in blood plasma — are the adrenal glands, pituitary, thymus, corpus luteum, and retina.

The brain, spleen, lung, testicle, lymph nodes, liver, thyroid, small intestinal mucosa, leukocytes, pancreas, kidney and salivary glands usually have 10 to 50 times the concentration present in plasma.

No bodily organ stores ascorbate as a primary function, and so the body soon depletes itself of ascorbate if fresh supplies do not continue to arrive through the digestive system, eventually leading to death if unresolved.

Lack of ascorbic acid(vitamin C) in the daily diet leads to a disease called scurvy, a form of avitaminosis that is characterized by:

loose teeth

superficial bleeding

fragility of blood vessels

poor healing

compromised immunity

mild anemia

It is eventually fatal, and was a common condition among sailors and during winter.
Reply:Another useful source says:

"Vitamin C is important to all animals, including humans, because it is vital to the production of collagen. Vitamin C is also important because it helps protect the fat-soluble vitamins A and E as well as fatty acids from oxidation. Vitamin C prevents and cures the disease scurvy, and can be beneficial in the treatment of iron deficiency anaemia."

The anti oxidant properties of Vitamin C mean that it is used in numerous prepared foods to reduce the deterioration of the product. In a similar way - it is used diversely in the body to ensure efficient working and to support that are vital to good immune system.

Prof Linus Pauling was one of the original great advocates of the 'power of vitamin C' - and believed in super large doses having a positive and beneficial health effect.

Not all folks have completely agreed - and regular huge doses of Vit C can actually cause some problems (some research has indicated that regular large doses may contribute to the formation of kidney stones - which can be painful!)

BUT overall - IF you have a healthy diet with a good range of fresh fruits and vegetables (preferably grown Organically - to reduce your exposure to toxic chemicals used in herbicides/fungicides and fertilizers) - you should be getting a reasonable supply of Vit C daily - oranges and some other citrus fruits are known for decent levels of Vit C, but potatoes also contain vitamin C too and if you eat freshly harvested, lightly boiled potatoes you will increase your intake! Other good sources things like KiwiFruits, Guava, Black currants, some Melons, strawberries, Raspberries and a lot of other fruits. The Acerola - which is not usually found in supermarkets! is exceptional for the amount of Vit C it contains - as are Rosehips (you can get this in syrup form but beware the sugar content!!!)

Beacuse Vit C acts as an antioxidant - it can contribute to fighting 'free radicals' which rather unscientifically put are bits- of chemical toxins that can trigger mutations in the body's cells...this COULD lead to the process which starts diseases such as Cancer. Also because Vit C supports a healthy immune system - it makes the body able to combat toxins, bacterial infections and other threats more effectively.

So it’s a good Idea to take Mum's advice on this and make sure you consume good sources of Vit C every day. As the body CANNOT make or store the vitamin it is important to eat foods that contain t regularly (and if you have to you can support your intake by taking a Vit C supplement - BUT avoid ones with sugar/artificial sweeteners/ or ones that are not 'buffered' to reduce their acidity...as this can cause stomach problems)...

Isnt having vitamin C pills as good as having calcium pills, what is the difference btw the two?

Im 5 1/2 months pregnant and im having a lot of pain in my bones in my legs and upper thigh area, and ive been taking vitamin c tablets, i wonder if i should also start taking calcium pills?

Isnt having vitamin C pills as good as having calcium pills, what is the difference btw the two?
They are two completely different things. Calcium is for your bones and your baby's bones. Vitamin C has a lot of uses (but actually, fighting off colds is not considered to be something that it does very well, based on the research). You can go here to find out what Vitamin C is for. http://lpi.oregonstate.edu/infocenter/vi...

You need to make sure you are getting 1000-1200 mg of calcium per day, either through your diet or through supplements. Your prenatal vitamins likely do NOT have this much calcium in them because calcium interferes with iron absorption. You need to be counting up the amount of calcium in the foods you eat and in your prenatal, and then supplement it with another vitamin if you aren't getting at least 1000 mg. This is essential for your baby's bone development and the healthiness of your bones as well. Women who do not get enough calcium in pregnancy are much more likely to have osteoporosis later in life, because the baby sucks the calcium out of you if you don't give him/her enough.
Reply:You should be taking prenatal vitamins since you're pregnant. If you are you don't need to be taking anything extra. You could even be harming your baby if you take too much of any one vitamin. Ask your doctor.
Reply:Vitamin C is what you would get from eating oranges or stuff like that calcium is from milk and milk products.

Calcium builds bones and Vitamin C helps the immune systems the two have nothing in commen other than there both good for you. and if you are having bone pain you need to see your doctor. Bone pain is a VERY SERIOUS thing. It could be all types of things from arthritis to cancer I would make an appointment with a doctor as soon as you can...
Reply:Vitimin C and Calcium are two different vitamins. Vit. C helps keep away colds and Calcium keeps your bones strong. If you're taking pre-natal vitimins, they should have the RDA of both. You should be taking Folic Acid also.

How soon after C section can you get pregnant?

I had a C section delivery about 3 months ago and I think I may be pregnant again. HPT came back positive. Is it safe to be pregnant again?

How soon after C section can you get pregnant?
yes it is safe. Congrats!
Reply:you need to talk to your doctor!!! i was recommended to wait a year. i hope everything goes ok for you and your baby!!!
Reply:My dr said for me not to get pregnant before 3 months had passed after my c-section. It would be best to wait an entire year to give my body a chance to heal completely. Since you are already pregnant... it would be best to talk to your dr about what you should do and what's best for the upcoming baby !! I am sure that everything will be fine though !!! Good Luck and Congratulations !!!
Reply:Yep, not a problem. However, being that your due date will still be less than a year after your c-section, you probably won't be able to VBAC.

What should I delete from my C drive to clean it up a bit?

I've tried a lot of things such as removing all the programs I do not use, emptied recycle bin, clear internet files, and I searched through my C drive for unused files and deleted a lot of them. This didn't even put a dent in my problem. Before this my entire C drive was blue; now I have a tiny little line of pink. Any suggestions?

What should I delete from my C drive to clean it up a bit?
have you defragged it? Defragging cleans up all unneeded disk space and reorganizes it.

its generally in the control panel I have vista and its under system %26amp; maitence %26gt; administrative tools %26gt; defragment your hardrive for me... on xp its start %26gt; accessories %26gt; system tools %26gt; disk defragmenter

What is the maximum amount i can claim on a schedule c without any reciepts?

I do alot of odd jobs.. and want to file my taxes to the best of my ability.. I dont really have proof of money earned or expenses.. What is the maximum amount of income i can show on a schedule c without any documentation?

What is the maximum amount i can claim on a schedule c without any reciepts?
NONE. That s what the law states. You must keep receipts.

now, if you are asking what might set off a red flag to question or audit your return...well, that's too hard to say.

I know of a lady who puts $8k and has never been audited, yet anyway. Then there is the guy who put $750 bucks and got a letter from the IRS asking him to substantiate that amount with receipts.

But if you really did have those expenses and have a good excuse (fire in home or tsunami) for why you no longer have the receipts then you will be allowed to claim those expenses. Especially if they are within reason. for example if your business deals with lawn care...then repairs to a mower or buying a shovel are reasonable.

But dont mess with the IRS, there are some mean people working there.
Reply:And the Cohan rule is usually accepted in cases where you have proof for most months and are missing proof in others (say from a fire or other disaster).
Reply:There is no income maximum. If you are audited, the IRS will be concerened about you underreporting rather than overreporting, your income.

Expenses are a different matter. For expenses, the risk is that they will be overstated. Consequently, the IRS can disallow your expenses without sufficient documentation.

You still may be able to win on that point, though, using the Cohan rule. That court case basically recognizes that some expenses must have been incurred in order to produce income, and that reasonable methods MIGHT be allowed to estimate them.

Do i have to file taxes if i only received w/c and long term disability?

I didnt work at all last year because I had surgery, and only received W/C and Long*term disability do i still need to file and if so do i get money back without any taxes being taken out?

Do i have to file taxes if i only received w/c and long term disability?
Workers comp isn't reported or taxable.

LT Disability might be taxable depending on what type it is.

Normally you don't get money back without anything being taken out. If you retired on disability though, and receive benefits under your employer's disability plan, until you reach minimum retirement age that is considered earned income so might qualify you for an earned income credit. If it's social security disability or some other type, no.
Reply:yes, you still need to file for income tax. You will more than likely owe money, if you had paid no tax; unless you have deductions to help your total payable to go down. I would suggest if you are going to continue to collect w/c, it would be best to ask them to take some tax off so it doesn't hurt you at tax time.

When the bulb of a constant-volume gas thermometer is placed in a beaker of boiling water at 100°C?

When the bulb of a constant-volume gas thermometer is placed in a beaker of boiling water at 100°C, the pressure of the gas is 223 mmHg. When the bulb is moved to an ice-salt mixture the pressure of the gas drops to 159 mmHg. Assuming ideal behavior, as in the figure below, what is the Celsius temperature of the ice-salt mixture?

When the bulb of a constant-volume gas thermometer is placed in a beaker of boiling water at 100°C?
Well, there is no "figure below," but maybe we can solve it anyway.

P1 / T1 = P2 / T2 (Gay-Lussac's Law)

T2 = (P2)(T1) / P1 = (159 mm)(373 K) / 223 mm = 266 K

Temperature = 266 K -273 = -7 degrees Celsius

How much energy is required to change a 20 g ice cube from ice at -40°C to steam at 100°C?

How much energy is required to change a 20 g ice cube from ice at -40°C to steam at 100°C?

How much energy is required to change a 20 g ice cube from ice at -40°C to steam at 100°C?
There are 4 separate energies that must be added together to get the total energy.

1. The heat necessary to get the water (ice) from -40C to 0C

2. The latent heat of fusion to change the water from a solid to a liquid at 0C (no temperature change just a phase change only)

3. The heat necessary to get the water from 0 C to 100C

4. The latent heat of vaporization to change the water from liquid form to gas form (steam) at 100 C (no temperature change, phase change only)

All these 4 numbers should be calculated based on a mass of 20 grams.

For water the latent heat of fusion is: 334 kJ/kg

and the latent heat of evaporation is: 2260 kJ/kg

Simply to heat the water in its solid or liquid form takes 4.18 kJ / kg C

The mass is 0.02 kg

1) 4.18 kJ / kgC * 0.02kg * 40C = 3.34 kJ

2) 334 kJ / kg * 0.02 kg = 6.68 kJ

3) 4.18 kJ / kgC * 0.02kg * 100C = 8.36 kJ

4) 2260 kJ / kg * 0.02 kg = 45.2 kJ

Add 'em all up

The A/C fan on my 2003 Chevy Malibu only works on levels 4 and 5. What is the likely cause?

I have already replaced the entire in-dash climate control module to no avail. What else should I check?

The A/C works great on fan levels 4 and 5 but the fan does not operate at all on the first 3 settings. Also, the Recirculate button often turns itself off to the Outside Air mode.

The A/C fan on my 2003 Chevy Malibu only works on levels 4 and 5. What is the likely cause?
The contact points on your A/C Blower Switch and the resistor need to be looked into. The recirculate button may be prone to a leak in its vacuum connection.
Reply:There's a resistor block near the motor made up of three resistors. The smallest resistor being bad would take out speeds 1, 2 %26amp; 3. It's a bear to get out, and most people wouldn't bother if the fan works at all.
Reply:The resistor block could be shot and that controls the fan speeds.
Reply:you should look to the blower resistor it is in the bottom of the air box inside the car right up against the fire wall .it is tough to get to
Reply:my guess would be either

1) your blower motor switch

2) your blower motor resistor

i dont know if any of those would effect the outside air mode. but the the certain speeds working i would say the above.
Reply:most common is a bad resister board

Reply:The site that GracieM recommends is great.

The Professionals use a compound called Acticlean. As a homeowner, you may not be able to get this. Try your local hardware store and look for evaporator coil cleaner. It should be highly diluted, as the aluminum fins on the evaporator can corrode quickly. Read and follow the instructions on the bottle.

If you are on a tight budget, take some dish soap and dilute it down, maybe a quarter teaspoon in a gallon of water. If you have a garden sprayer or mister, spray the coil and let it soak for a few minutes. Rinse with plenty of clear water.

A soft brush is also a handy tool to GENTLY brush the fins.

Your AC guy was discourteous , but you have to realize this is how he pays his mortgage and feeds his family. People get upset when they call a pro, but this person has a business to run, not a charity. Some technicians lack good people skills. He may have had an extremly busy month and be very tired of working 10 hour days to help folks out.

Reply:just take the cover off of the unit and with a fine spray hose off the inside of the unit. My unit stopped working the other day and that is all that it was. Find a new a/c person also, this guy is a scum bag for not telling you. try not to hose of the wires if you do just let everything dry for an hour or so wont really hurt anything
Reply:Is the unit in the window or wall? The evaporator is located in the front of the unit. Remove the front cover very carefully, some have screws and some just snap in and out.

There should be a filter, washable in front of it, made of foam or some other material. I use a vacuum cleaner or u can buy a special brush designed for the coils, "do not ever use your hand or fingers, very sharp, will cut you and painful" I also have a blow gun with high air pressure to clean the dirt from it.

Don't pay an A/C man for something you can do yourself for free. The condenser is on the outside of your house or apartment, you can use a water hose and make sure the drain off underneath the unit is clear, if it backs up, You may have water coming in on your floor
