How long would it take to heat 4,000 litres of compressed air to 2,500 degrees C?

Assuming the fuel burnt to heat it is at 2,500 degrees C.

How long would it take to heat 4,000 litres of compressed air to 2,500 degrees C?
Well never. The temperature of the air will assymptotically approach the point at which it is at equilibrium with the fuel and the surroundings. Just how fast it approaches will depend on the amount of energy per time being transfered.
