How long should you wait after a c-section to get pregnant?

I just had a c-section in October because she was coming out sideways but then about a week and a half after I got a really bad infection so I'm wondering how long I need to let my uterus heal.

How long should you wait after a c-section to get pregnant?
I had 2 c-section, I was told 1 to 2 years, all depends on how you take care of your body and your personal health history. I would ask your doc. first.
Reply:i don't think it would be wise of you to have another baby this soon. I think you are suppose to wait at least 2 years before you would have another c-section. Ask your dr.
Reply:I think that it is at least 2-3 years so that you wound heals as much as possible.

Even though the cut is healed the inner muscles need more than a year to heal properly.
Reply:You should definitely wait at least 12 months. You need to give your body time to completely heal before getting pregnant again. Pregancies are very stressful on the body. Plus what happens if you have to have a c-section again? Why would you want to get pregnant already? You should wait a little while longer.
Reply:i was told one year. please call and ask your doctor
Reply:have sex
Reply:I was told a year by my doctor you need to check with your doctor to make sure everyone heals different then someone else.Check with the doctor to make sure you are safe.
Reply:i would say a year would be great your body needs time to heel and let me tell you i have two little ones that are close in age and you might want to re-think haveing them so close :)
Reply:The safe textbook answer is 1 year.
Reply:The general rule is at least 1 year. It's hard for muscles, which your uterus is, to heal and not waiting could result in uterine rupture in your next pregnancy.
