How soon after a D&C did you carry a healthy pregnancy to term?

I am scheduled for a D%26amp;C on Friday...and am curious to know how soon my husband and I can start trying again....the doctors say 6 months to a year....but I'm looking for real women with real answers aside from the doctor's textbook recommendation.

How soon after a D%26amp;C did you carry a healthy pregnancy to term?
I've had two miscarriages. The first I passed the baby at home (I was about 12 weeks along), without a D%26amp;C. It took 7 months to get pregnant again, %26amp; I had my son. I had a second miscarriage this past Feb. 19th %26amp; had to have a D%26amp;C (I was 18 weeks along). They told us no sex for two weeks, so we complied. I was pregnant again 10 days after that. No period ever came!


Needless to say, after my first experience, I didn't expect that!


I'm sure my body wasn't ready yet (needed more healing), but I am now 38 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby due any time now.


So keep it in prayer %26amp; make sure you're emotionally ready. It helps not to be desperate to become pregnant again. I truly think that's why it took so long to conceive after my first miscarriage! Since I wasn't expecting it, that's why I got pregnant so quick the second time. That's my theory anyway.

Reply:Honestly, if the pregnancy ended early (by 8 weeks) I see no reason to wait that long, unless you have some medical issue. I miscarried in my 2nd trimester and the doctor said to wait 2 or 3 months, which was actually good timing for me. I would say start trying again when you've healed from the procedure and you feel you're emotionally ready.

Reply:I had a blightes ovum (sperm and egg meet but don't develop) I had a d%26amp;c. MY Dr told me to wait a month before trying again. I waited, ans was pregnant again within 3 months. MY Dr said that after a d%26amp;c my uterus was clean and fresh for lack of a better term. 6 months to a year is a little excessive...especially when my Dr said 1 month.
Reply:I had my D%26amp;C December 13th, 2005 and by April I was preggy...I had my baby girl December 12th 2006. I also had to go drugs to help me get preggy though because I have PCOS.
Reply:I've had 2 miscarriages. The 1st one at 9 weeks. After the d%26amp;c I was pregnant again in 3 months time. I had another miscarriage at 10 weeks and then another d%26amp;c and got pregnant 4 months later. I'm now 18w 3d pregnant and all is going well thank god! Best of luck to you. You can start trying as soon as you feel ready. Remember.....no sex after d%26amp;c until the bleeding has stopped completely.
