How soon after a c-section can I become pregnant again?

I know this is more of a question for my doctor, but I'm curious and I don't see him again until next month. I already know I'm going to have a c-section and would like to become pregnant again shortly after. Has anyone become pregnant or knows someone who has become pregnant soon after having a c-section? If so, how soon after? Were there any complications? How long were you advised to wait before becoming pregnant again?

I concieved my third son 8 weeks after my 2nd was born. I really dont know to much regarding the Csection, but I do know I was told if you concieve within 6 months of birth the chances for premature and low birth weight are highly increased. Now in my case, I delivered full term and a 8lb 7 oz baby. So in my case non of that was true. All I know from experience it was soooo hard to take care of a new born and be pregnant. And not giving my body enough time to heal after birth gave me soooo many aches and pains and lots of weight gain, since I wasn't able to lose hardly anything from the second birth. And now my one sone just turned one and the other is turning two at the end of this month and I lead a very hectic life. I love it but it's very crazy and tiring. But good luck to you in what ever you may chose.





PS - No matter how hard it has been or will be, I would not trade it for the world.
Reply:you are supposed to wait 6 weeks before having sex after delivery and i know several women who have gotten pregnant at that time. they had no complications with their pregnancies.
Reply:I am pregnant with my second after a c-section. I became pregnant 7 months after my c-section.





My dr. is supporting a VBAC as well.
Reply:when i was young all 3 of mine were born c-section. You need to wait at least 2 years for your body to heal up on the in-side good and strengthen up your muscles. Wait, don't be in a hurry.
