Can a window planter be used to hide/disguise a window a/c unit?

I have an ugly a/c window unit that is on the front side of my house and I am trying to find ways to disguise it. I don't like the basic covers so I am tring to be creative. Could a window box work(obviously not intending to plant anything inside)

Can a window planter be used to hide/disguise a window a/c unit?
might work . you can try anything just do not block the back it needs to get plenty of air
Reply:Dont' do it-as ugly as window units are, you dont want to put anything that may obstruct air flow across th condenser coil. Plus you dont want to put anything that may invite bugs and spiders to make a home in you unit and posibly making their way into your home. If you want A/C but dont want the window unit eyesore, install central air where the condenser looks more professional and acceptable.
Reply:Window planters are installed at the window sill ....below the a/c unit

Therefore they will be of no use to you
