I just had a c-section on Sept 6th. I am allergic to birth control so needless to say I can't take it to help prevent myself from becoming pregnant too soon. So I was just wondering how early is to early to get pregnant again?
What is the earliest you can become pregnant again after a c-section and have a healthy pregnancy?
I would wait the 18 months at least. Its very scary and it takes longer for your insides to heal than you think. Longer then three months. They have so many birth controls out there now, I think you should talk to your doctor and see if there is some type of birth control you can try.
Reply:When my mom had me, she had a c-section. My younger brother and I are 14 months apart so she got pregnant with him within 5 months of having me. As far as I know she didn't have any problems with anything... I hope things work out for you!!
Reply:I have a c-section on Septeber 6 too!!
From a biological standpoint, after 3 months it's okay to start trying again ALTHOUGH most doctors would request that you wait at least 18 months to give your body time to recover.
Reply:i fell pregnant 5 weeks after my c-section and went on to have a very healthy baby boy.
Reply:Well, you aren't supposed to have sex for 6 weeks, so I would say that you need ot wait at least that long!
Reply:I had a c section july 2 2007, i just found out im 6 weeks pregnant.
Reply:A c-section is major surgery to your abdomen and uterus.I have had three, and my doctor told me to wait at least 1 year to ensure I have fully healed. If you get pregnant to early you are risking a ruptured uterus. Although your abdomen looks fully healed your uterus takes more time to heal.
I would advise you wait because a ruptured uterus can be fatal to you and your baby. Along with that you will not be able to have children.
My husband and I just used condoms, because I too didn't take birth control, and everything turned out fine.
Best of luck!!
