I noticed the letter, and wondered if someone in the Saints' organization had died. Then I saw it on the Colt jerseys as well, and it's unlikely someone connected to both teams had died. Does anyone know what it represented? It can't be an anniversary thing, although this is the Saints' 40th anniversary, and, besides, C is the Roman numeral for 100, and no team is that old.
What was the letter C for on the Colts and Saints jerseys?
The NFL has added captain's patches this year to the uniforms.
Reply:The NFL has started this year the option for captains of teams to wear a "C" patch on the uniforms, it is new. prior to this season they were not permitted from what I got from last night's commentators. I didn't know about the green dot though, pretty kool.
Reply:i guess you got the answer about the "C", which i didn't know. but, the green dot is something new, too. they're only allowed a certain number of players on the field to have headsets...the green dot identifies who has one on.
Reply:The "C" from my understanding identifies the team captains when they are on the field, similar to the NHL designators.
Reply:Captian (of the team)
Reply:Caca
Reply:Permanent Captain. New thing...
Oh no...not the green dot question!! It's whoever has the communications with the sideline...every QB has one.
Reply:Captain... better question is what was the green dot on the back of Drew Brees helmet???
Reply:The C on the uniform is a permanent Captain patch and for the other person's question..... the green dot on th back of Drew Brees' Helmet means that his helmet was equipt with a headset. It is to help the refs know that there is only one headset on the field at all times.
Reply:c is for captain the green dot is he helmet with the radio receiver in it.
Reply:Everyone is saying Permanent Captain?
I thought I saw that the 'C' was on everyone's jersey last night.
