I had a c section on october 12...I also experienced postpartum bleeding and am now anemic. Any suggestions on when or what kind of exercise is good.
How long after a c-section can you beging to exercise?
Only your doctor can tell you when you are ready. It depends on your stage of recovery, and how your incision is healing. Ask during your postpartum check-up.
Reply:Walking is fine, but because you are anemic, I would wait until your 6 week appointment and talk to your doctor. Not all patients who have anemia SHOULD be exercising as their organs are already stressed due to the low iron in your blood.
Reply:When I had my C-Section, the doctor told me eight (8) weeks before returning to work, no exercising, or no pushing a broom or vacuum cleaner. Sounds like you need to go back and talk to your OB about these problems. Your doctor may prescribe some iron pills like mine did (no they did not make me sick like the over-the-counter pills can do) and he will tell you when it is safe to resume normal activities.
Reply:I think you have to wait 6 weeks before starting any exercise, but im sure walking is fine. Just take things slow and if you start to feel tired. stop,
It might be a good idea to go through things with you doctor, just to make sure,
Congratulations on your little un.
