I had a c section on Feb 21 and we CANNOT wait to get pregnant again. How long does one have to wait to get pregnant again?
How long do I have to wait to get pregnant again after a c section?
the tell you to wait 6 weeks before having sex but if you had any problems with your c-seaction then i would wait a little longer. but sometimes i takes a while for you to start ovulating again.
Reply:A year or more is good. I had one in October 2005, and now I am a few weeks pregnant, again.
Wait until a year goes by then you can get pregnant again. Good luck! You also need to give your baby time to grow a little bit before you have another one...let them enjoy you before they have to compete with their sibling...a year is pretty good.
Reply:o man wait at least a year, thats too many babies.
Reply:wow....REST...haha raise one baby...are you a tennis ball machine? No offense...but I'm IMPRESSED!
Reply:I have had three kids all by c-section. I had them all with in 3 and a half years. As long as you are healed up and your doctor isn't concerned, you should be fine. I would suggest waiting a bit though. Because I had my seccond when my daughter was 15 months and I had bad postpartum depression two babies is alot harder than one. the third was a breeze so everyone is different, just make sure you have alot of support! Good luck!
Reply:I would give it at least a several months. You need to allow your uterus to go back to normal, and your hormones to regulate
Reply:u can't even have sex for two months after c-sections- u should wait at least 4 months
Reply:a year to 18mnths.
Reply:In healthy women, the incisions made during a caesarean section are assumed to have healed by around three months after the surgery, however, most obstetricians will advise you to wait at least a year before trying to get pregnant again.
Reply:My friends doctor told her that she had to wait at least a year to give her body enough time to heal and recover. I always hear doctors telling their patients to wait a year to a year and a half. Becoming pregnant too soon after a c-section before fully healed will increase the risk of your uterus rupturing. If that happens it will lower your chance at future successful pregnancies. Just rest and recover for now and concentrate on your new addition. Being a new mom is very exhausting. Wait the year, before you know it you will be pregnant with the next one!
Reply:Ask your doctor. I mean of course you want to make sure you're healed up. Let your doctor give you the OK to have more kids before you jump right back in. Your baby isn't even a month old!!! But that's ok. I'm ready to have another baby too. My son is 2 months old, but I want to wait because I don't want them born in the same year!
Reply:As a general rule, you should probably hold off on trying to conceive again for 18 to 23 months. That may seem like a long time, but you've just had major surgery in addition to giving birth and you need to let your body recover and replenish lost nutrients. Women who deliver via c-section lose twice as much blood than giving birth vaginally. Studies have also shown that women who conceive less than six months after giving birth may have a higher risk for complications such as a ruptured uterus or a premature or low-birth weight baby. That said, if you do get pregnant less than 18 months after a c-section, don't panic. Taking at least an 18-month break between births is a guideline designed to reduce your risk of complications, but many women get pregnant sooner and do just fine. So talk to your healthcare provider about your specific circumstances.
Reply:OMG...i hope you wait a litle longer! And who's 'we'??? Last time I was pregnant, I'm the only one who experienced it. He's not pregnant, he's only expecting. Give your body more time to heal. Trust me, it will be better for your baby now as well as the new one. You don't want to risk being a high-risk pregnancy just because your hubby doesn't want to wait. He's so anxious, tell him to give birth next time. Good luck
