How to replace a C clip over the safety spring of Win Mdl 77?

Is there a tool to do this proceedure-down in the hole where the spring is inserted over the end of the safety and must be held in there while the C clip is inserted.

Does the clip have two small holes in the two ends? If so you can use a small pair of snap ring pliers to remove/reinstall the clip. Most pairs are reversible to use both ways.
