How long after a c section do I have to wait to be able to take a bath?

I had a c section a week ago and they said I could take a shower but did not tell me how long I had to wait to be able to take a bath. How long should I wait?

I had a c section 3 weeks ago, and Ive already had a bath. After your staples or stitches come out, youre okay to have a bath.
Reply:about a week after you get your stitches out you should be able to. but not to hot. the area will still be tender. congrats on your new baby !
Reply:I had a c section. I was told when the stitches come out.
Reply:My doc told me to wait at least 4 weeks. I did have some complications with my incision healing properly, but the 4 weeks is pretty standard, I think. ( I LOVE baths so, I ended up taking one before hand, I just didn't fill the tub up to where my incision would soak in the water, bad me, I know.)
Reply:It looks like 6 weeks, from what I have been told. To give the wound enough time to heal and so your not putting any pressure on the stomach at all. Congratulations!!!
