After a c-section Is it normal to have watery blood 9 days after the surgery or should i have stopped bleeding

I'm not sure how long you actually should have bloody lochia after a c-section, but can anyone tell me how long they did? It is still watery blood, not bright red but still red, and kinda crampy.

I bleed for almost 7 weeks after my c-section. it would vary, some days would be light, and then maybe the next day would be heavy again, it was the longest 7 weeks of my life!!!! :
Reply:after my c-section I bleed for over two weeks. After a baby some women bleed over six weeks. Youshould never have discharge or bleed from you incision though, just vagnial discharge. Cramping is your uterus shrinking, especially when breastfeeding it gets worse
Reply:Bleeding may last up to 6 weeks. It should gradually turn from bright red to pink and then yellow-white. If menstrual-type bleeding continues past the first four days after delivery or comes back after slowing, call your healthcare provider.

I think that watery blood is normal, although you should be seeing clots. Comlications would be considered:

-Continuing bright red vaginal bleeding or clots larger than a golf ball.

-Foul order to discharge

-Fever over 101.0

-Pain or redness in either breast.

-Abdominal incision opening or has drainage.
Reply:you can bleed for upto 6 weeks i only bled for 4 weeks thank god and that was bad enough so you have nowt to worry bout if ya still bleedin after 6 weeks r get big clots go to doc just to be on the safe side
Reply:I bled for 8-10 weeks after my c-section. Think about it - there is more blood still inside with a c-section than there is with a vaginal birth. Nothing "pushes" it out....
Reply:i bled heavy for 5 weeks after my c section
Reply:C-section or vaginal, a woman will bleed up to 12 weeks after delivery. Regardless of how the baby came out, your uterus still needs to completely shed its lining, contract to its regular side, and clamp down on blood vessels exposed when the placenta was removed.
Reply:Lochia can last a few weeks. It should be easing up by now though and not be quite so bloody. Are you nursing? That causes your uterus to contract down too and give you that crampy feeling, but that's a food thing. But the amount of lochia is the same which ever way you give birth (as an average). Good luck with your baby and get plenty of rest and drink those fluids!
Reply:I bled for 6 weeks after my section. It would be almost gone, then start up again. Try to stay off you feet as much as possible. Good luck and congrats!
Reply:i bled for a long 10 weeks after my c-section!
Reply:you should have it 3-7 weeks after birth. It will go from the bright red to light red then pink then yellow. Then it will be back to normal. You may even have breakthrough of red again if you do too much.
